ZakkShane Photo | Nashville wedding Photographer

Hey, I’m Zakk Shane Miller

Being a Nashville wedding photographer industry is honestly the most fun someone can have in my opinion. For over a decade, I’ve had the privilege of capturing weddings across the South, building my roots in Louisiana in places like Lake Charles, New Orleans, and Baton Rouge. Those years shaped my methods and my specific style. Real moments, honest emotion, and storytelling that feels natural rather than staged.

From Louisiana into Texas, Arkansas, and Florida, where I’ve photographed everything from week-long middle eastern weddings to mossy venues and classic Southern weddings, learning new techniques in every step of my career.

Now that I’m based in Nashville, I get to bring that experience to couples all around Middle Tennessee who are looking for wedding photography that feels modern but classic at the same time.

Timeless Love Stories

They say that the first seven minutes after a person passes from this life to the next, their brain replays a highlight reel of sorts. The biggest moments that happened in that persons life replay one last time. I’m convinced that this is one of those core memories that play in your brains “highlight reel” of sorts. Strangely enough, being a Nashville wedding photographer makes me look through this filter when photographing your big day.

I’m not big on approaching weddings from the stand point of short-term trends, over top prop usage, or cheesy cliche’ posing. I want your wedding package to feel like you. You should smile when you look at your photographs. I really enjoy when couples can look past who captured their photos and go straight to the memory, I think that’s a sign of a moment being captured properly.

Telling Your Story

The best wedding days that I’ve ever photographed have been from couples that have random photos, videos, inside jokes, and funny vows. The ones that really tell the portion of their story that’s already happened, while inviting me to tell a significant portion of the story that hasn’t happened yet. Getting to be your Nashville wedding photographer rocks, I seriously get to meet cool people AND tell their stories? Heck yeah!

It’s A Privilege to Be Trusted by You.

Trust is a big deal. The fact that you trust me with the biggest moments of your life together? A really big deal. I don’t take this opportunity lightly, with over a decade of experience, I’ve learned to look for certain cues or even potential delays. Let’s have fun and make every moment unforgettable.

Don’t Blink

Not so much for the photos, really just for the sake of taking in the day. Seriously, don’t worry so much about the logistics of the day and all the things that have to happen before or after the nuptials occur. Your wedding planner and I will coordinate closely to ensure that you get hitched, without a hitch! A bit of a southern dad humor moment, sorry about that. But really though, stop blinking when I take the photo. More dumb humor, I think this is becoming a problem.

It’s Your Day & I’m Capturing It

No two weddings are the exact same. There’s so many different people with different stories, memories, ethnicities, and traditions. Who I am I to make sure you do things “my way” on your wedding day. Let’s stay on the same page so that I can capture your wedding day in a way that works best for you. You look better when you look like you.

Full time and On Time

I know, I know, that was super cheesy, but hang tight because I have a point to make here. If you’re looking for a wedding photographer with experience, finding someone who does this as their full-time job is pretty much essential. There’s important memories to be captured and I don’t take those lightly. I’ll refrain from making the perfect joke about being on time. Even thought it would be the perfect “callback” moment.

Where Did My Photography Style Come From?

I had the incredible experience of getting to learn from a couple different photographers but then watched a boatload of tutorials and online courses too. I like to think I landed somewhere in the middle, blending in the styles of everyone I’m inspired by. So when you see my work, you kind of see how they influenced me in a weird way.

Louisiana Grown but Nashville’s Home

I grew up in the marshy, swampy, mosquito infested pit of Southwest Louisiana. This part of Louisiana is like none-other. Everything within an hour has it’s own subculture and sometimes menu. I miss the food, but I love being in Nashville, TN. There’s a nice southern attitude that I’m accustomed to here but topped with a creative streak and hot chicken.

How Do You Pick A Wedding Photographer?

There’s a ton of wedding photographers in Nashville and honestly, I’m just glad to have the privilege to be considered to document your wedding day. I would say aside from professionalism and experience, being able to be open and have fun is most important. Also, probably a good idea to avoid photographers that don’t do this as their full time job. Let’s get coffee and find out if we’d work well together. Who can say no to free coffee?

Available for Worldwide Travel

Leaving the homeland for your wedding? Put me in your suitcase and take me with you please? No really, I LOVE traveling to a new place for a wedding day. My passport is kept current and I bring dumb jokes that you’ll probably not laugh at.
